Baking Haul | All Discounted!

_DSC0291_DSC0292_DSC0293_DSC0294_DSC0295_DSC0296_DSC0297

Hello there loves!

I did some shopping over the holiday weekend because there were amazing sales everywhere and I need some new baking supplies.

Old Fashioned Timer from Anthropologie, $7

As soon as I saw this in the sale section, I dove for it. I always see these at Anthro and never want to pay full price for them. I think they’re handy if you have a ton of things you’re baking at once and you need another timer. In all honesty, it was also just cute!

Gingerbread Cookie Mold, $10

I got this at TJMaxx and I can’t wait to try it out! I think you can also use this for sugar cookies or other types of cookies beside gingerbread. The company is French so you have to do some reading to see what it can be used for, but I thought it was so adorable! Silicone is generally super easy to bake with and I can’t believe I found one this cheap. I can’t wait to decorate little gingerbread cookies.

Holiday Sprinkles, $4

I got these at TJMaxx too, and all I can say is that they are adorable!

Holiday Baking Cups, $3

I found these at TJMaxx as well, and these are perfect in every way. We always make so many treats for Christmas time and now we are prepared to be even more festive. I’m already looking for cupcake recipes to use these bad boys. The best part about them is you don’t have to put them in a muffin tin! They can stand straight up on a cookie sheet and have batter poured into them. Very convenient and easy to use.

Copper Cookie Cutters, $8

Last year, my family went through a cookie cutter crisis. We had no idea what to do because we had lost all but two of our cookie cutters. We vowed to get more, and never did. When I saw these at TJMaxx, I had to get them. Firstly, because they are copper and wonderfully on trend. Second, the shapes are lovely and wintery, I can’t wait to use them.

Paper Straws, $2

I actually have some red and white striped straws like these, but these are soooo cute. I love the striped green and the red polka dots. I think these will be good for drinking eggnog or other festive drinks for a party. Also from TJMaxx, I was surprised at how many were in here for the price, and I’ve started thinking up ideas for what cute things we can use them for.

Now that I have all these new baking goodies, I’ve got to get baking!

The Best Holiday Party Outfits (By Brand)

_DSC0301
Quite a bold statement there, isn’t it? While these outfits might not be everyone’s cup of tea, these were my favorite pieces from holiday collections this year. My favorite time of year is fall and winter, and when the best stores bring out holiday stuff, I go crazy. These are my five favorite brands and I wanted to show you how I would put together a party look for each one! Each one has a different feel for a different type of person or party. But each of them have adorable pieces that I feel like I NEED in my closet!
Kate Spade Holiday Party

Anthropologie Holiday Party

Madewell Holiday Party

Zara Holiday Party

Modcloth Holiday Party

As you can see, I added a few pieces that weren’t from the brands so that you could imagine how to incorporate things you may already own into the party outfit. While I love them all, I think my favorite is Modcloth. I’ve been the biggest fan of them lately and they have amazing sales going on right now! But since these are all my favorite stores, they all feel very close to my heart.
Which was you favorite party look?

Makeup I Wore In November

_DSC0299_DSC0301_DSC0302nailstopcoat

Hello there my lovelies! If you’re in the states, Happy Thanksgiving! I’ve just got done preparing a lot of food and treats and finally took a break to upload this. It’s so nice when you can take a break in between peeling potatoes and frosting a cheesecake. I wanted to share with you the makeup I’ve worn this month!

I’ve gone for a lot of natural brown colors this month with hints of gold here and there. I think it’s appropriate for November since next month will probably decked out in holiday goodness.

Too Faced Boudoir Eyes Palette- I’ve actually been using this every single day for over two weeks. Just look at those colors, gorgeous and still very natural for day time!

Luxie Eyeshadow, Color No. 290- I swatched this color all the way to the left of the colors from the palette so you can see how it looks on the skin. It’s a beautiful red-toned brown which is perfect for in your crease or under the eye. It’s a very normal looking brown, but it’s a great staple and I love it!

Essie Polish in “Summit of Style”- I actually bought this at Ocean State Job Lot and got an incredible price, so check there if you ever want cheap Essie! This gave an amazing gold foil effect that I love so much. I think it’s a great color of fall and a good transition for holiday nail art.

Seche Top Coat- I’m just not sure what I used before this. No matter what polish I put on, this keeps it in place without any chips. I think this time of year is hard as it gets cold and we are hard on our brittle nails (ew). But I keep repurchasing this and honestly will never use anything else. A wonderful product for any Christmas nail art that you want to save. Highly recommend that you buy this, or ask for it for Christmas!

What makeup/beauty products have you been using in November? Let me know!

Introducing Heatherwood Issue No. 1 (Autumn)

Heatherwood Cover.001

If you’re looking for inspiration for fall, for the upcoming holidays, or even just an escape from your everyday life, you can check out my digital magazine. I worked so hard on this and I’m so pleased with the result. The magazine is all about Autumn (which I realize is a little late, but I think it’ll still be exciting.) Inside are illustrations, writing, and photography to help spark something in you. I think this would be perfect for curling up with your tablet or iPad and chilling out for awhile and looking through. Hopefully you feel as cozy reading it as I was making it.

Also, all work in the magazine are mine. There is a written entry and photograph from Bhavika and the link to her blog is in the zine to check out more of her awesome work. I was so happy that anyone submitted anything, and her writing went perfectly with the rest of the material. If you are hanging out today and preparing for Thanksgiving, this might be the perfect thing to help you unwind! Mostly this was just for fun to put all of my work in one place, so I’m happy I can even publish it at all. I’m excited to see what all of you think!

Cozy Weekend//Productive Work

_DSC0297_DSC0289_DSC0293_DSC0295.jpg

I’ve been seriously relaxing all weekend! At school, the project and midterms have been crazy and I was so happy to come home and chill out. I’ve used a lot of Lush and read a lot of books. I’ve also had my fair share of peppermint hot chocolate. I think recharging on the weekends is a great way to get a pep in your step for the week ahead. Not only is my magazine launching, but I have projects for class and Thanksgiving!

I got this amazing tea from the Yankee Candle Factory store in Deerfield and it’s my favorite tea EVER. It’s got chocolate and peppermint, and I added a bit of creamer that was flavored of Crème Brûlée. It was amazing.

I’m sorry about the quality of the pictures for my outfit. I left my tripod at school and had to set me camera on a shelf. The lighting was not ideal. But you get the idea! I liked the chambray-on denim- on paisley. It seemed like a cool combination with a cozy winter coat on top.

Shirt- Thrift Store

Jeans-Levis

Shoes- Converse

Scarf- Urban Outfitters

Sunglasses- Kate Spade

How has your weekend been? Let me know!

Zine Launch Date

_DSC0298

Quite an exiting title, isn’t it? I can’t believe I am almost ready to realize my first online magazine.

If you didn’t know already, I’ve been drawing and painting and writing, and then putting that collection of things into an online magazine. It isn’t anything fancy and I’m not making money off of it, but it’s been creatively exciting! It is all about Autumn, which is my favorite season of all time.

I had submissions open for the magazine, but they are officially closed. The launch of the digital zine will be the day before Thanksgiving, which is Wednesday, November 25th. I think this is the perfect day to read it and be cozy while having time off for Thanksgiving. In between making yummy meals, you can flip through and hopefully be inspired.

I am finishing everything for the zine in the time until it launches, and I’m so excited to share it with you.

Grey Days

_DSC0274_DSC0275_DSC0278_DSC0277

I am so freaking excited to finally get this post up! I’m aware of the fact that it’s just a boring outfit post like usual, but I’ve been trying to upload this for about a week.

To be fair, I’ve been very busy and had other posts that had to go up more than this one, and then yesterday and had literally no time to edit these pictures. But as I sat down this morning to edit them, I was overcome by melancholy at the beautiful grey images in front of me. Right now it’s a gorgeous sunny day, no rain or clouds in sight. But when I took these last week, we were having a rainy spell, and the pictures really reflect that in their tone. Admittedly, I enjoy rainy and overcast days to sunny days, in real life and in photographs. This brought me back to a few days ago when I was living in my raincoat and piling on the blankets.

My raincoat is a hand-me-down via my best friend from J.crew.

The striped shirt is from American Eagle (so soft!!!).

My jeans are my trusted grey jeans from Target. Honestly, the best jeans ever.

Not pictured, but I wore white converse with this.

I also wore this grey hat from Target (my new favorite) and it kept the cold, wet air from swirling into my hair and creating a mess.

I’ll be posting soon, hopefully on time and with holiday themes!

Black&floral

Black&floral

Hello everyone!
I’m at it again on Polyvore. Winter florals have been my favorite thing lately because they are feminine with a darker edge. This is how I would style a Valentino dress if I was ever lucky enough to have one.
Also, how cute is this bag?! The cat is adorable. I want this so badly!
You can follow me on Polyvore here.

Indian Summer

_DSC0268_DSC0269_DSC0271_DSC0272

As usual, I’m posting an “outfit” blogpost without seeing a full length shot of me.

I can never get a good angle from the spot in my room! Once I do outfit shots out and about or when I have things going on I’ll be able to get full shots. For now, here are some details of my outfit. It’s been so warm this week that I didn’t even need a jacket with this dress!

I wore my new hat from TJMaxx and I loved the vibe it gave off with the chambray dress. My hair also looks really dark in this, I’m not sure why but when I straightened it, it seemed a lot darker!

How have your weeks been? Has the weather warmed up a bit where you are as well?
