OOTD- Easter 2015

OOTD easterDSCF2622_retouched

This is a little late since Easter was a few days ago, but I wanted to show you what I wore! I also want to apologize for another in-my-house picture, but it was actually snowing really hard on Easter. I thought we were over that! What happened!

You may recognize this from my eShakti review, I thought this dress was just perfect for Easter. It wasn’t too fancy, but it was dressy enough since my whole family was joining us. The cream and black color is so classic! Everyone at our Easter party loved the dress.

eShakti Custom Dress Review

I received this beautiful dress from the website http://www.eshakti.com that was completely custom made for my body. I was so excited to share this with you because I was so incredibly impressed with how easy the customization stage was in placing my order, and how well it fit me! I felt so special wearing a dress tailored to my body shape, and felt like it would be a great thing to share since there are so many types of bodies out there, and so little websites that allow you to easily and quickly put in your measurements and give you a great fit and style.

The dresses and other products on the site may be a bit pricey if you are doing a custom order, so I have the discount code “glitterbunnies” that can be used to get 10% any purchase from the date 9/22/2014 through 10/22/2014. I highly recommend this website if you want a piece of clothing that is literally made for you, and I guarantee I’ll be using them to get future dresses for events since their materials are such good quality!

Let me know what you think, and if you do a custom dress, please share it with me!

The perfect Summer Dress: Under $25!

Hey guys!

I found this incredibly affordable dress while I was searching around for something a bit more boho than my other dresses. This particular one was found at necessaryclothing.com

The first thing I loved about this was that it was a maxi dress. I am convinced that for summer, a maxi is just as important as a simple sun dress. And the best part it, this one is $21.99, which personally, I think you would pay way more for at Urban Outfitters or even Forever 21.

This dress has a hamsa pattern in the middle, which is great for all you hipsters out there. I have been reblogging so much of this hippie-bohemian-yoga stuff lately, so I enjoyed the graphic. It comes in one color, and in small, medium, and large. The website has a ton of other great deals, but this new arrival was on my radar for a great affordable dress that you can wear over and over again during the summer time.

What do you think? Let me know!

Perfect Spring/Summer Dress — Anthropologie

Galen Dress, $128

Hello everyone!

I’m sorry for my absence from this blog, most of my mid-term projects were group projects, and they were extremely time consuming! However, most of my final projects are under control, and I am ready to organize some things for blogging.I bought a few new dresses for summer that are standard “summer dresses” like sheer sundresses. But while in my fashion history class, I noticed one of my friends wearing a beautifully styled dress that I thought would look amazing on many body types. I looked around for some good ones, and came across a great version from Anthropologie, (AKA my favorite store). It is a bit pricey, and I’m aware of that. However, splurging a little for a dress this beautiful could last you a good few seasons. The color is in “blue motif”, and I think it could really be dressed up or down based on the occasion!

Hot Items for Late Summer

2. ModCloth $124.99
4. Dior

Hey guys, it’s been awhile! I am getting ready to go back to school, and I thought I would do a Hot Items list for the end of summer/early fall. These are all items that are being talked about right now!

1. I have no idea where this ring is from, (suggestions?) but gold rings are huge right now. Stacking them is big right now, as well as midi-rings that go on the top part of your finger. The design is adorable, and I found many of these at urban outfitters.

2. I love ModCloth, and I was looking for a dress for starting school in the fall. This dress from is pretty pricey, but I would pay it. It’s called the “Byron Bay Beautiful Dress” and is a really hot item on ModCloth at the moment. This sailor-inspired nighttime dress is perfect for a dinner by the sea, and is sold exclusively online. It can be done with lots and lots of colorful accessories for summer, and when fall rolls around it can be paired with tights, socks, boots, and jackets. I love the colors and the pattern!

3. I couldn’t find this brand either, but I did love the cut and the style. (It seems i’m into preppy sailor things lately.) The brown lining and stripes is nautical and summery, but can be translated for fall. For summer, It can be worn over a bikini at the beach, or with high waisted shorts and sandals. For fall, this is slouchy enough to wear over leather leggings, and would look great paired with a maroon jacket or knee high socks and boots.

4. This is from Dior’s Pre-Fall 2013 collection. I didn’t find the price (but I think we just know it is mind-blowing). I have been really into statement necklaces lately. This pearl-embroidered piece is perfect because it isn’t too much. You could wear this with a plain white tee and jeans to add some color, or you could use it with a beautiful dress for weddings or cocktail parties. The color is beautiful (I predict it will be big this fall), and I’ll be on the lookout for imitations!

Be on the lookout for some gold stacked rings, printed dresses for fall, nautical slouchy shirts, and colorful statement necklaces!

Summer Items 6/23/13

2. Emma Stine $89
3. Three Floor $209

Hey guys!

This is like a half inspiration post and a pieces-to-buy post.

I have no idea where the first or last pieces are from…but I know they are adorable. The first one is definitely from a one of the runway shows from the fall 2013 collections. I thought it was a great indication that there will be a lot of red for fall, as well as ornamented necklines. (Which is exciting)

THe second item is a beautiful shirt that can be worn with soo many things. It is a soft knit, so it can be worn during the summer, as well as transitioned into the fall. The hem is asymmetrical, and the oversized shirt is cut in a way that it is 1 size fits all (for the most part).  I found this at a great new website that I want to see more of, called emmastine.com

The third item is something you might want to buy for an occasion, seeing as it is more expensive. The dress itself is made out of textured cotton and the top is a mesh material. The bust of the dress and the skirt is lined with a luxe material that reminds you why you spend so much for these cutout dress. It is gorgeous for summer events, and even works for the fall. I found this at shopbop.com

The last item is one I found online and can’t quite locate. But you can find these almost anywhere. I love the graphic tees for summer because they can be worn with skirts, shorts, and over bathing suits. I found so many like this at Forever 21.

Dress Cool for Formal Summer Events

1. Tory Burch $135
2. Boohoo $20

Hey everyone!

I gave you some products earlier today, but I found a couple more things to share with you! I know that one thing that seems to pop up all summer long for me are fancy events. I dread this during the warm weather because I worry about my (very thick) hair frizzing, my clothing choices being too hot, and sweating because I didn’t choose the right sandal. But fear not! I have a few tips that can be solved with some retail therapy.

The first good idea for a fancier event is to keep your jewelry really elegant, and really minimal. In the fall I wear tons of bangles and necklaces and dangly earrings, but in the summer I feel myself wanting to rip it all off. A good suggestion is the Tory Burch bracelet I provided above! It is airy so your wrists will be able to breathe, and it is clearly a classy choice of jewelry. The gold is pretty in the summer because it tends to soften the color of any skin tone (even paper white, like mine). This bracelet is obviously pricey because it is designer, but investing in a few good pieces like this will save you when you are scrambling with what to accessorize with. This geometric pattern gives a clean high polished feel to the 16K-gold piece. It also comes in silver!

Another good idea is letting the clothes be the main event. We went over minimal jewelry, so I should say, statement clothing is really good during the warmer months. In the cold weather, putting staples over more staples and layering that with trendy staples works because, well, you are freezing. So when you are super hot at a wedding and don’t want to move because the cardigan you wore was the center of your outfit, you are in quite a pickle. Look for a dress that simple is the centerpiece of the outfit. This dress that I found at boohoo.com was only $20, and chances are you can find something exactly like it at H&M and Forever 21 for a similar price. No matter what you have in your summer closet, a statement formal event dress is key, and you can hit two birds with one stone by getting one that has a trend incorporated in it. (The dress also comes in “Coral” in size 8 and “Ivory” in size 12)

As for shoes, find something comfortable, and not heavy. The same way the accessories and clothes should be short and sweet (and easy to get sweat stains out of…) so should your shoes.

What do you think of these tips?
